Our Social Mission

We exist to create economical sustainable employment for women and youth from Cambodia’s Social Programs and other NGO programs who are now survivors from past trauma either from trafficking or other abuse situations.

Quality Accessible Nutrition

We offer high quality food that is delicious, healthy and fortified to improve individuals nutrition. We make good nutrition accessible to all people in Cambodia thereby improving the health and well-being of all Cambodians.

Purchasing Cambodian Raw Materials

We chose to purchase Cambodian raw material (Soy beans, corn, rice) direct from the local farmers (primary agriculture) or NGO co-operatives assisting individual farmers rather than purchase through traditional supply outlets (middle men) thereby providing a better livelihood for those that actually produce primary products.

A Commercially Sustainable Model

We are working to become financially sustainable accepting that we carry additional costs through our social mission. We offer high quality and competitive products, ensuring complete customer service.

So! Pasteurized Soya Milk

High protein soy milk is currently sold mini marts, schools, gymnasium clubs etc.  We have a range of flavors, which includes Mung-Soy blend, Corn milk, Strawberry, and Chocolate,  All soya milk has no preservatives, as we rely on the Pasteurization Process.   Soy milk will keep for one month in the refrigerator.

Lemon Green Tea

Lemon tea is made with fresh lemons / limes sweetened with local forest honey from Mondulkiri. It is a very refreshing healthy drink for any time of the day.

Fortified Corn Snacks

Corn is a very popular food in Cambodia. At So! the staff have capitalized on this and produced a delicious corn snack that is fortified with additional iron, zinc and vitamin C. At this stage, the corn snacks are sold as a snack food to NGO’s although additional packaging has been designed ready for sale into the commercial market

Powdered Spirulina, in three gram sachets (100% of the recommended daily intake)

If you haven’t heard about Spirulina, it’s time to learn. A blue-green algae, spirulina packs a punch in terms of nutritional value. In fact, the United Nations World Food Conference in 1974 called Spirulina the 'best food for the future' http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spirulina_ (dietary_supplement).corn snacks are sold as a snack food to NGO’s although additional packaging has been designed ready for sale into the commercial market

Jean-Paul Jourdan (from France)

Jean-Paul Jourdan (from France) initially supported the development of the So! Spirulina farm as part of Project Spirulina Cambodia (PSC). He and his team of experts provide oversight and provision of continued training for So! staff which has led to the quality production of Spirulina right here in Phnom Penh. So! is now investing in expanding the Spirulina farm to build 11 algae ponds. This has also been partly funded by the Life Church (Auckland New Zealand), but still requires further financial support in order to be fully completed. Currently, most of the So! Spirulina is sold to NGO’s that have health programs supporting children with HIV/AIDS but So! is expanding its sale of Spirulina into the local consumer market .http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spirulina_ (dietary_ supplement).corn snacks are sold as a snack food to NGO’s although additional packaging has been designed ready for sale into the commercial market

Borbor Plus’ is a Soy-Rice Blend provided as a supplement to the rice porridge that infants live on in their early months of life. It is 70% Protein and has a full range vitamins and minerals, to help build up the nutritional value within their bodies. So! currently has two projects with differing ingredients being developed for babies which will help alleviate the high death rate of children under five in Cambodia.  (85 children in 1000 die in Cambodia, due to lack of nutrition) It will also assist with the development of the brain in their young lives as the connections are made at this critical time in their bodies.  By providing these micronutrients into their young bodies they will be better equipped to fight of infections / virus that attack our bodies by building up the immune system, within our bodies.

So! Project Developments

Currently So! is able to produce between 750  - 950 liters per production day  based on our current sales demand.  However we have a desire to increase to 2000 -2500 liters per day, which would ensure commercial sustainability.  This requires a development plan both to increase production as well as increasing market awareness which in turn will increase Soya milk Sales.  Soya Milk is a Fast Moving Perishable Goods (FMPG) product which requires volume to be profitable.  FMPG are normally high Volume Low margin products, which attract foot traffic into resellers businesses and the opportunity is then available to increase sales with impulse buying for the reseller. To increase production & sales we are working in three distinct areas with differing packaging requirements which dictate the market price.  We need to offer an increase range of flavors, which will help sales and need the packaging for these flavors.  We will need to upgrade some aspect of our milk production enabling us to speed the processing of the milk.  This includes additional autoclaves, increasing the filtration capacity and ability to increase the filling rate of bottles.

So! Spirulina Development

So! has a development project to increase the capacity of the Spirulina farm by 500% the from 100sq meters of Algae ponds to 500 sq meters in Progress.  Today we have over 250 sq meters of ponds built and are looking to continue this expansion program. To date this has been funded and supported by Project Spirulina Cambodia and Life Church (Auckland NZ), but requires additional funds to complete the remaining spirulina tanks. So! has implemented a marketing plan to sell spirulina to local expatriates in Cambodia as well as introducing Spirulina to NGO’s to enabling access to Cambodian children, thereby increasing their immune system against infections etc.
